Trek Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Janglik Village
The journey begins with arrival at Janglik, a picturesque Himalayan village that serves as the starting point of the Buran Ghati Trek. Trekkers meet the expedition team, complete preparations, and attend a briefing about the trek.
The rest of the day is spent acclimatizing and exploring the peaceful surroundings of the village.

Day 2: Janglik to Dayara Thatch
The trek begins with a gradual ascent through dense forests filled with pine, oak, and rhododendron trees. The trail opens into wide alpine meadows known as Dayara Thatch, offering spectacular views of the surrounding mountains.

Day 3: Dayara Thatch to Litham
The trail continues through lush meadows and mountain landscapes while offering beautiful views of distant snow-covered peaks. The campsite at Litham is located near the Pabbar River and surrounded by dramatic Himalayan scenery.
Trek Distance: 5 km
Day 4: Exploration of Chandranahan Lake
Trekkers hike toward the sacred Chandranahan Lake, a beautiful glacial lake believed to be the origin of the Pabbar River. The lake is surrounded by towering peaks and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes.
After spending time near the lake, the group returns to Litham campsite.
Day 5: Litham to Dhunda (Buran Pass Base Camp)
The trail ascends toward Dhunda, the base camp for crossing the Buran Pass. The terrain becomes rugged as trekkers move through high-altitude landscapes and snow-covered slopes.
Trekkers prepare for the challenging pass crossing on the following day.
Day 6: Cross Buran Pass – Descend to River Camp
This is the most thrilling day of the trek. Trekkers begin early to ascend toward Buran Pass, the highest point of the trek.
After reaching the summit, trekkers experience an exciting descent through steep snow slopes before reaching the campsite in the valley below.

Day 7: River Camp to Barua Village
The trail gradually descends through scenic forests and mountain landscapes toward Barua Village, located in the Kinnaur region of Himachal Pradesh.
Trekkers enjoy beautiful views of valleys and traditional Himalayan settlements.
Day 8: Departure from Barua
The trek concludes with departure from Barua Village, marking the end of an unforgettable high-altitude adventure through the spectacular landscapes of the Himalayas.
Best Time to Visit
The best time to undertake the Buran Ghati Trek is between May to June and September to October, when the weather remains stable and trekking conditions are ideal.
During these months, trekkers can experience clear mountain views, blooming alpine landscapes, and safe conditions for crossing the Buran Pass.
