Trek Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Joshimath

The journey begins with arrival at Joshimath, a picturesque mountain town that serves as the starting point for many trekking adventures in Uttarakhand. Trekkers meet the trekking team, complete preparations, and attend a briefing about the trek.

The rest of the day is spent acclimatizing to the mountain environment and exploring the surroundings.

Altitude: 6,150 ft

Day 2: Joshimath to Dhak Village – Trek to Gulling Campsite

After breakfast, the team drives to Dhak Village, the starting point of the Kuari Pass trek. The trail begins with a gradual ascent through terraced fields and dense forests of oak and rhododendron.

As the trail climbs higher, trekkers begin to enjoy beautiful landscapes and scenic views of the surrounding valleys. The trek continues until reaching Gulling Campsite, a peaceful meadow surrounded by mountain views.

Day 3: Gulling to Khullara Campsite

The trek continues through enchanting forest trails and open alpine meadows. As trekkers gain altitude, the surrounding scenery becomes more dramatic with snow-covered peaks appearing in the distance.

The trail offers spectacular views of prominent Himalayan peaks such as Dronagiri and Hathi Ghoda Parvat before reaching Khullara Campsite, a beautiful camping spot surrounded by towering mountains.

Altitude Gain: Gradual ascent

Day 4: Khullara to Kuari Pass – Summit Day

This is the most exciting day of the trek as the team heads toward Kuari Pass, the highest point of the journey. The trail gradually climbs along ridges and mountain slopes, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding Himalayan ranges.

Upon reaching the pass, trekkers are rewarded with a magnificent panoramic view of iconic peaks including Nanda Devi, Kamet, Trishul, and Dronagiri.

After spending time at the summit enjoying the views and capturing photographs, the team returns to Khullara Campsite.

Day 5: Khullara to Dhak Village

The group begins the descent back toward Dhak Village, following the same scenic trail through forests and meadows. The return journey offers different perspectives of the landscapes and mountain valleys.

Trekkers enjoy the final moments of the trek before reaching the village.

Day 6: Return Journey to Joshimath

After breakfast, the team travels back to Joshimath, marking the end of the Kuari Pass Trek. The adventure concludes with unforgettable memories of breathtaking mountain views, scenic trails, and the thrilling experience of trekking through the Himalayas.

Best Time to Visit

The best time to undertake the Kuari Pass Trek is between March to June and September to December, when the weather remains clear and trekking conditions are favorable.

During spring and summer, trekkers can enjoy lush green meadows and pleasant weather, while winter offers the magical experience of trekking through snow-covered landscapes
