A recent batch of travelers with Sumeru Summits embarked on the unforgettable journey to Om Parvat and Adi Kailash, one of the most spiritually significant routes in the Kumaon Himalayas. The adventure began in the peaceful city of Haldwani, where the group gathered with excitement and anticipation for the days ahead.
From Haldwani, the journey continued through the beautiful mountain roads of Uttarakhand, passing through Pithoragarh and eventually reaching the border town of Dharchula, situated along the banks of the Kali River. The scenic drive itself felt like a journey through changing landscapes, with lush valleys slowly giving way to rugged Himalayan terrain.
As the expedition moved deeper into the mountains, the travelers reached Gunji and Nabi Village, remote settlements surrounded by towering peaks and vast valleys. The quiet beauty of these villages offered a glimpse into the simple mountain life of the region.
One of the most powerful moments of the journey came during the visit to Om Parvat. The group stood in awe as the sacred snow formation resembling the symbol “ॐ” appeared naturally on the mountain face. It was a rare and deeply spiritual sight that left everyone silent in admiration.
The next highlight of the expedition was the visit to Adi Kailash, often referred to as “Chota Kailash” because of its resemblance to the sacred Mount Kailash in Tibet. Near the serene waters of Parvati Sarovar, the travelers spent quiet moments reflecting while gazing at the majestic Adi Kailash peak rising above the lake.
The entire journey was filled with shared experiences — long mountain drives, peaceful landscapes, laughter among fellow travelers, and moments of deep spiritual connection with the Himalayas.
As the group finally returned to Haldwani, the mountains had left their mark on everyone. What started as a pilgrimage had become a memorable journey of faith, friendship, and discovery.
For the travelers, it was not just a destination reached, but a powerful Himalayan experience that will stay with them forever.
